(US) – Alyssa Henry, the CEO of Square, a fintech subsidiary of Block, is set to step down from her position on October 2, according to a recent regulatory filing.
Block, helmed by Jack Dorsey, encompasses various business units, including the well-known Cash App platform.
As part of the changes, Dorsey will take on the additional role of “Square Head.” The exact reason for Henry’s departure remains undisclosed.

Henry has been with Square for over nine years and has played a pivotal role in transforming the company into a software-focused tech firm.
She navigated the team through the challenges posed by global pandemic lockdowns and expanded Square’s services for small businesses worldwide.
Henry’s departure marks the end of her effective leadership of Square since 2015. Prior to her tenure at Square, she held positions at Amazon Web Services and Microsoft.
